Notes from the January 5, 2010 Meeting

Congratulations to Lisa Fiehweg who has a new title: Furniture Account Executive. The good news is she does not get to work with hospitals anymore; the bad news is... nothing.

Carole Ann Fleming needs leads such as new openings, new companies, new stores and restaurants. If you know of something new, pass it on to Carole Ann.
Also, dues are due in a couple of weeks; the good news is that whoever gave the most Bonus Bucks will not have to pay.

Officers positions: all positions, but the secretary’s are open. If you want to run for office, send an e-mail to Alex Christodulidis or to Carole Ann Fleming.
Finally, on January 14, the Small Business of the Year Award will be held at the Sheraton in Fort Worth. This is a great opportunity to start the year networking.

George Gdovin is depressed after yesterday's game. So depressed that people say he went from purple to blue. However, in business, things are colorful. George and Jason have been busy the past two months. And they're trying to open up Arcos to outside investors to expand. They are looking to raise about 2.5 million dollars. They have some contacts but need more so if you know somebody willing to invest in a growing business, let them know. La Vie en Rose does not stop there as George is starting a new business: a social media website in a new way to share media online.

Russ Wilson needs good leads such as industrial companies, churches, and business owners that are currently renting or need to expand to pay for his upcoming honeymoon. Good leads will translate into Florence and Rome, Italy. Bad leads will translate into Florence, Iowa (pop. 2,254) and Rome, Illinois (pop.  1,776). Help him, if you can.

Cindy Byers has a friend who called about a little fishing lodge in Henderson County. Her dad had died a few years ago and the cabin was still in his name, thus cannot be sold. In short, Cindy can help you with other things related to real estate. By the way, the estate tax for 2010 is zero. So if you’re going to die...

Will Adley Transportation is a one-stop shop for all your courier, flatbed, and bobtail needs. He serves all of Texas and is licensed. If you order by 11a.m. it will be delivered by 5p.m. If you want to move something, call Bell Brothers Moving as Will’s couriers will not walk past the front door. Will's birthday is also coming up (4/28) so be ready for his open invitation.

Gary Oliver’s Mobile Thrones has been growing and busy. To show his commitment to service, he's put his cell phone number on all four sides of the box and now people can’t stop calling him to say “It’s good to be the king!” Lupe Zamora actually spoke highly of Gary’s service saying that within two hours of ordering a throne, it got delivered.

Paul McKinney’s Steak & Ale is up for sale. Asking price $845,000, and Paul will take the note.

Reagan Ferguson gained back 4 pounds of the 28 lost. He really took four from Clarence, who lost four during the holidays. In other news, California vintners in the Napa Valley area, which primarily produce Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir and Pinot Grigio wines, have developed a new hybrid grape that acts as an anti-diuretic. It is expected to reduce the number of trips older people have to make to the bathroom during the night. The new wine will be marketed as PINOT MORE (Pee No More).

Lupe Zamora does commercial and residential electrical work, and he won't tell us what happened over the holidays.
